Minka Kelly is an American actress and model who portrays Lyla Garrity in the Friday Night Lights television series.
Biography[]
Minka was born Minka Dumont Dufay in Los Angeles, California, the only child of Rick Dufay and Maureen Dumont Kelly. Rick Dufay is a former guitarist in the band Aerosmith. Minka is of French and Irish descent.Maureen worked various jobs to support herself and Minka. By the time Minka was in junior high school, she and her mother moved around a lot before settling in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Minka graduated from Valley High School in Albuquerque in 1998. Minka had been in a relationship with actor Chris Evans, baseball player Derek Jeter (with whom she was briefly engaged) and Jesse Williams. Minka loves cooking and baking and in June 2015, she graduated from New School of Cooking in Culver City, California.

- Her grandfather is actor Richard Ney, co-star and ex-husband of Academy Award-winning actress, Greer Garson.
- After graduating from high school, she returned from New Mexico to Los Angeles with her father to pursue acting as a hobby while she went to school to become a surgical technician. However, after her first acting class, she got "hooked" and began pursuing acting as a career.
