The second season of the Friday Night Lights television series aired on NBC from October 5, 2007 - February 8, 2008.

Season Summary[]

This season saw Coach Taylor return to West Dillon after a brief stint as QB Coach for TMU and focused primarily on Brian Williams' senior campaign. The season was cut short by the writer's strike.

FNL Backfire Eric quits his college coaching job to return home to his family and the Panthers, but the latter doesn't look very promising when the old coach fights his termination after only two games. Tim accompanies Jason to Mexico where a questionable medical procedure gives Jason hopes of walking again. After making an appearance in the Lord's name in a boys' home, Lila takes it upon herself to show a recently-release inmate the light.

Tim recruits Lila in trying to talk Jason out of the risky surgery he has scheduled in Mexico, while Landry's father tries to put up a fence between his son and Tyra.

Landry contemplates turning himself in after he goes in place of Tyra to meet her attacker's brother. Smash's first recruitment trip leaves him thinking twice about college.

After being cleared of murder, Landry and Tyra now must work on their relationship.

Smash is running into obstacles when everyone wants a verbal commitment to their college programs, except the one he wants.

Tami Taylor is hired by Coach Taylor as the girl’s volleyball coach and turns to Tyra for help. Meanwhile, Not only does Tim faces tough times as he tries to express what he is feeling to Lyla but he has to give the money back to his ex-roomate that he stole.
